UK - New Unique Layer Vaccine from Intervet: Nobilis RT + IBmulti + ND + EDS

Published: July 20, 2005

"One vaccine, five antigens!" This best describes Intervet's new breakthrough vaccine for commercial layers, Nobilis RT+IBmulti+ND+EDS. A single administration induces broad protection to four of the most important viral diseases affecting layers.

Nobilis RT + IBmulti + ND + EDS

The regular emergence of new strains of Infectious Bronchitis (IB) requires broad protection from a vaccination schedule. For this reason Intervet includes their proven "IB multi" component. IB multi is a combination of two IB virus strains: a Massachusetts strain and a variant strain of the D274/D207 serotype. Prior priming with live vaccines Nobilis IB Ma5 and Nobilis IB 4/91 completes the IB vaccination schedule inducing broad protection to a wide range of variant and Massachusetts type IB viruses.

Avian Rhinotracheitis (ART) is a respiratory disease which has been identified in layers as a cause for drops in egg production. High ART-specific antibody titres induced by the "RT" component of Nobilis RT+IBmulti+ND+EDS effectively prevents infection. Prior priming of layers with a live Nobilis Rhino CV or Nobilis RTV8544 vaccine is recommended to ensure high uniform antibody titres.

Newcastle Disease remains one of the most devastating poultry diseases. Layers well primed with live ND vaccines (Nobilis ND Clone 30) followed by an inactivated ND booster vaccination (Nobilis RT+IBmulti+ND+EDS) are well protected from the negative effects of ND.

Egg drop syndrome (EDS) causes a dramatic drop in egg production and a significant increase in the number of soft-shelled and shell-less eggs. In layers EDS has been successfully controlled by proper vaccination with an inactivated vaccine (Nobilis RT+IBmulti+ND+EDS) prior to the onset of lay. Nobilis RT+IBmulti+ND+EDS is a unique solution to four of the most important viral infections of layers. The easy to use single preparation means a reduction in vaccine administration costs and reduced handling stress for the chicken.
