Calier presents the authorization for broilers of its Primun Salmonella T vaccine against S. Typhimurium

Calier has presented the authorization of its Primun Salmonella T vaccine for broilers before more than 80 professionals from the poultry sector within the framework of the European Poultry Congress that was held from June 24 to 28 at the Valencia Conference Center.

In a technical conference under the title 'Advances in vaccination against salmonella', Calier had opinion leaders with whom they shared the main challenges in an environment where production systems condition the immunity offered by vaccines. Faced with this new context, Calier has presented alternatives that allow longer protection against this zoonosis to improve the profitability and sustainability of farms.

STANDING UP TO SALMONELLA WITH CALIER'S PRIMUN VACCINES

Calier has two live vaccines against salmonella. Primun Salmonella E, against Salmonella Enteritidis and Primun Salmonella T against Salmonella Typhimurium.

Primun Salmonella E is the only Salmonella vaccine on the market authorized for use in laying, which allows for more complete immunization throughout the hens' production cycle.
For its part, Primun Salmonella T has recently obtained authorization for long-cycle poultry and broiler chickens, in addition to having differential diagnosis of the vaccine strain by PCR.

Both vaccines offer an excellent safety profile, generating longer immunity with the minimum level of excretion. They also make it easier for the poultry farmer to develop his own vaccination plan against these two types of salmonella. The administration of both is simple and effective, since they are applied through drinking water.

VACCINES DEVELOPED AND MANUFACTURED IN SPAIN

Calier's Primun vaccines are developed and manufactured at Calier's biological products plant in León. Facilities of more than 6,000m2 are at the forefront in Europe in the development of this type of solutions.
