Problem solvers for poultry

The basis Avimix
In Vitfoss, Avimix is the range of mineral feeds for poultry. Avimix contain of vitamins and trace minerals as well as e.g. amino acids, enzymes, and phosphorus to fulfil the requirements of the particular poultry species. Avimix can be tailored to meet individual needs and individual customers in order to fit the customer'´s raw materials to an optimal composition of an Avimix. This enables the Avimix to be tailored with regard to specific challenges as leg problems, foot pad lesions, egg shell quality etc.
Changes in productivity can quickly arise, and a stabile and high productivity is sensitive to many factors that easily can stress the animals (infections, vaccination, environment, etc.).
In these cases, it can be recommendable to provide the animals with a supplement to help them overcome the challenges as quickly as possible.

The supplement products: Success and Suplex
Vitfoss has a range of supplement products in liquid (Success) and in solid (Suplex) form. The liquid products are suitable when appled through the watering system. The solid products can be used as top dressing. The table below shows the range of Vitfoss supplement products, which with advantage can be applied when facing different challenges in the poultry production.
Red Success / Red Suplex contain vitamin A, D3, and E as well as selenium. Extra supply of these vitamins can be required for optimal bone formation (vitamin A and D3) and as a defence to heat stress (vitamin E and selenium). Moreover, the combination of these vitamins has a positive effect on the immune system and reproduction.
Yellow Success / Suplex E-30000/Selenium are concentrated products containing a combination of vitamin E and selenium. The primary function of vitamin E is as an antioxidant, protecting the protein and lipid fraction of the living cells in the animal against oxidation. In this process, vitamin E interacts with selenium. Moreover, vitamin E and selenium are of importance for reproduction and the immune system.
A supplement of vitamin E is recommended to improve reproduction results, performance or to be provided in period where the animals are stressed (due to heat, vaccination etc.).
Green Success contains the range of B-vitamins. The B-vitamins play a major role in several enzyme systems. Extra supply of these vitamins often has a positive effect on undefined symptoms involving inhibited growth, poor appetite, poor feathering and bad general condition.
Blue Success is a combined product containing the vitamins A, D3, E, K, B-vitamins and selenium. The importance of these vitamins is described above. Usage of Blue Success is recommendable in periods where animals are stressed or to be provided as an extra supplement in order to optimise performance.
Micro Suplex has combined all the vitamins A, D3, E, and B as well as the trace minerals manganese, iron, cupper, zinc, iodine, and selenium. With this product you are able to give an extra supply of all the most important vitamins and trace minerals at once. In that way you are able to solve undefined deficiencies ensuing impaired productivity more quickly.
Suplex Micro-Aid
High concentrations of ammonia are toxic to the animal. Reduction of ammonia in the animal gut and in the air can therefore improve productivity. Suplex Micro-Aid is a supplement product containing saponins extracted from Yucca schidigera, which are well known for their ability to reduce ammonia evaporation and smell.
Micro-Aid inhibits urease, an enzyme catalysing the production of ammonia from urea in the gastro-intestinal tract of the animal. Micro-Aid is not absorbed, but passes through the intestine of the animal into the manure where it continues to work. Hence, ammonia concentration in the gut of the animal as well as in the air of the poultry
house is reduced. Supplementation of Micro-Aid to broiler feed has in several trials shown improved weight gain and feed conversion.
Stalosan® F
Stalosan F is used to control the disease pressure, thereby giving optimal conditions for the animal to perform. The antimicrobial effect Stalosan F controls bacteria, vira, fungi, fly-larvae and parasites, including Coccidia and roundworm. The antibacterial effect includes E.coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Mycoplasma, Campylobacter a.o. Moreover, Stalosan F controls moisture, and is able to bind water up to 4 times its own weight. Stalosan F can be added while the animals are present.
Stalosan F significantly reduces ammonia and sulphurous gases that normally would damage the mucous membranes of the animals and subsequently lower their resistance to infections. In case of disease treatment, Stalosan F improves the response to medication and reduces the risk of reinfection.
Increased stress of animals due to high stocking density, high performance, changes of feed etc. increases the risk of infections and diseases. Regular use of Stalosan F will lower the risk to a minimum.
Suplex Toxin Binder
Besides the supplement products described above, Vitfoss has compiled the mineral compound Suplex Toxin Binder, which can be supplemented on the farm. Toxins are harmful substances that have a negative impact on productivity of livestock. This applies both fusarium toxins and toxins formed during storage, e.g. Aflatoxin. When toxins are formed, they do not disappear again, whether the grain is dried, aired or the like. Only purification of grain will probably have a positive effect on the level of toxins in the grain.
In poultry, symptoms of mycotoxicosis include impaired productivity (poor growth and feed conversion, reduced egg production, poor egg shell quality, reduced fertility), increased mortality, reduced bone strength, and carcass condemnation (bruises). The effect of mycotoxins differ between poultry species, e.g. ducks are much more sensitive to Aflatoxins than turkeys, broilers and layers. When toxins are found in the grain, a toxin binder can be added and thus the toxins cannot harm the animals eating the grain.
