As has been obvious to everyone, the price of feed phosphates has undergone an almost incredible increase. A number of reasons can be cited for this, including: increased fertilizer needs to support the levels of corn production stimulated by ethanol policy, a worldwide shortage of sulfuric acid needed for some phosphate manufacture, and the extraordinary energy needs for producing of defluorinate...
Pof. Dale: I appreciate your article to take into account to reduce or minimize the high impact of the cost of feed phosphates nowadays. I would like to add a comment regard the P digestibility in the feed phosphates. Many nutritionist works with a bio disponibility of 100% of the total phosporus in some cases reducing the safety margin, and it's better to make a review of the nutritional matrix of the products in the feed formulation program, before to make some changes in the requeriments and the quantity of P that releases the use of phytase.
Thanks.
