After the success of the three previous Rhodimet Research Grants, Adisseo is launching a new call for application.
Dr. Véronique Legrand-Defretin, R&D Nutrition Director, Adisseo and Dr Yves Mercier, Research Manager Amino Acids & Proteins, Adisseo, announced the launch of the fourth Rhodimet® Research Grant for the period 2012-2014 during the 5th Advancia Seminar in Çesme.

Since its creation in 2006, 14 Laureates have been rewarded to study different topics covering fundamental research like the one concerning signalling function of sulfur amino acid in protein synthesis initiation, and applied projects like those concerning total sulfur amino acid requirements in starting chicks or pullets.
For this new call, a total amount of € 250 000 will be allocated to support 3 to 5 proposals of one to two years research, divided into basic and applied research grants.
If the previous RRG were limited to nutritional research topics, this new version proposes to add a new field with innovative processing technologies since Adisseo believes the production of methionine and its hydroxy-analogue, i.e. their synthesis, requires particular attention when the global demand in poultry production keeps increasing to satisfy the food needs of the ever growing human population.
The Rhodimet® Research Grant is addressed to scientists from Universities or Research Institutes worldwide. « Since we launched the Rhodimet® Research Grant in 2006, we have supported the scientific community to explore the biological functionalities and metabolic pathways of methionine sources and sulphur amino acids from both fundamental and applied points of view » says Pierre Casamatta, Rhodimet® Business Director. «Adisseo is clearly committed to support such new developments and is eager to sponsor new teams around the world who share our enthusiasm!».
