Big Dutchman’s volume dispenser for individual feeding of sows has become a real bestseller, with the 250,000th model being sold recently.
The recipient was the Westermeyer and Sehlmeyer GbR in Bohmte, Northern Germany. Close to the city of Bohmte, Arnd Sehlmeyer, as well as Christoph, Mathias and Franz-Josef Westermeyer are close to inaugurating their brand-new pig house that will be large enough for a total of 479 animals.
On the occasion of this special sales record, Big Dutchman Pig Equipment managing director Mangus Westerkamp, national sales manager Karl-Heinz Wöste and area sales manager Andre Appel surprised the investors with large gift baskets. “We would like to congratulate you on this excellent project and would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to prove our potential” says Westerkamp. “I wish you lots of success, and I am convinced that this popular Big Dutchman volume dispenser will prove to be a profitable contribution.”
The families Sehlmeyer and Westermeyer are experienced pig producers who market their pigs through the “Osnabrück Producers’ Association” (German:EGO). The new sow house was built with a large contribution of personal involvement, always taking into account the strict guidelines stated in the “Support Programme for Agricultural Investments” (German:AFP) and thus complies with the special requirements regarding animal-friendly housing of sows and piglets. Big Dutchman supplied the silos and housing equipment, including the dry feeding system and volume dispensers for the so-called floor feeding.
