This is a great experiment and report. There are crop years with low quality grain.
Most mined products are variable during the extraction of the mineral. Clay, zeolita, gypsum, some sources of phosphorous, etc. thus its efficiency is not evenly constant.
Other options are products that react directly with the toxic molecule. One by one chemicaly binding.
