Piglet diarrhea poses a substantial challenge in swine production, presenting not just health concerns for the piglets but also significant economic implications. These ramifications encompass hindered growth trajectories, escalating medication expenditures, and in extreme situations, increased mortality rates. The initial weeks post-birth are pivotal for piglets. Their digestive apparatus, being in its nascent stage, is vulnerable to a plethora of pathogens. In traditional swine farming modalities, weaning typically transpires between the third and fourth week. This transitionary phase subjects piglets to marked alterations in their environmental, dietary, and social contexts. Absence of adept weaning management can culminate in maladaptive behaviors, digestive anomalies, and compromised growth. Consequently, astute oversight of the weaning procedure becomes indispensable to mitigate adverse repercussions on piglet health and productivity, such as escalated post-weaning diarrhea and mortality.
