SIAL CHINA 2013. Going Beyond Success, Striving to Be of Value

From May 7thto 9th, 2013 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre, SIAL CHINA 2013 recorded 41,304 professional visitors and reached new height. With 2,157 excellent exhibitors from 79 countries and regions taking over 85,000sqm exhibition space, products from 47 international pavilions and 27 Chinese provinces and cities shine bright like diamonds. 
The success of SIAL CHINA 2013 has gone beyond words. Not only it raised the bar in MICE industry, but also it reflects the value of a trade show that SIAL CHINA believes in and has fulfilled. While many other food & beverage shows are striving to be successful by growing sizes and numbers, Asia’s leading food & beverage show has aimed to increase the value of its exhibitors and visitors. With the positive feedback from all the exhibitors, it suggests nothing less than qualified B-2-B visitors. Opening Ceremony – Supports from Officials
On May 7th, a large delegation of Ministers (Argentina, Brazil, France, Poland, Portugal and Australia), Ambassadors, Consuls and Trade officers participated to the Opening Ceremony of SIAL CHINA 2013.
Most of all the pavilions were represented. China, with the Director of China Commerce Development Center, Vice Executive President & Secretary General of China Food and Packaging Machinery Industry Association, Vice President of China Canned Food Industry Association, Deputy Director General of Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, Deputy Secretary General of China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Association.
France, with the Minister for Agri-food; The guest country of Honor -Turkey, was represented by Vice Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. Without forgetting Undersecretary of State of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Poland; Secretary of State of Ministry for Food and Agri-food Research, Portugal; Governor of Province of Santa Fe, Argentina; Secretary for Agri-Business International relations of Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Brazil; and Ambassadors and Consul Generals of  Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Ireland, Korea, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Uruguay and Australia, and many more… 
La Cuisine by SIAL –Asian HoReCa industry innovation and inspiration event
The 6th edition of La Cuisine by SIAL came back again! More than 20 famous international and domestic chefs have participated in this event and brought brilliant cooking demonstrations and onsite interactions to more than 40,000 visitors.
In honored partnership with China Cuisine Association (CCA), on the 1st day, 4 exclusive sessions of demonstrations including beef/fish/shrimp & crab/chicken highlighted the event! The organizer had the honor to invite the international master chef Qu Hao as the event host, 2 national highly reputed chefs Yang Chaohui, Sun Huasheng; 2 international chefs David Ball, Sergio Zanetti and pastry chef-Li Bo brought together excellent fusion culinary demonstrations and showed their top skills of cooking during the whole day! On the 2nd and 3rd day, pavilion organizersTurkey,Malaysia,USA, and sponsors Ayam Brand, Andros Food & Beverage Ingredients and MONIN also animated the event with their excellent culinary demonstrations. 
SIAL Innovation – Where food industry revaluates
SIAL Innovation competition, showcase of the latest food and beverage exhibited in SIAL CHINAhas revealed for its 9th edition with new record: 48 selected innovative products from 31 companies from 17 worldwide countries and regions; 10 Award products and 1 Special Award!
The SIAL Innovation Award and the SIAL Innovation Special Award were given by the juries to highlight the best of the best innovative products exhibited in SIAL CHINA 2013. This year the big winner is BLUE SPICE CO. LTD fromThailandfor its BLUE ELEPHANT THAI COOKING product! 
Retail & Hospitality Forum – SIAL TV – Where HoReCa and Retail expertise are exchanged
The 2nd edition has successfully engaged its audiences with the most wanted topics and   information about Private Labels, Meat, Organic, Innovation and many more. The highly b-2-b platform for visitors to meet HoReCa and retail professionals has reached a new height this year with some of the most audience-overflowing sessions, including SIAL Group's new General Manager Nicolas Trentesaux on World Innovation Panorama. While Retail & Hospitality Forum would like to thank every elite speaker from Turkey, US, France, Italy, Australia and China, SIAL TV invites everyone to its online channel and stay tune for full length of some brilliant presentation during the Retail & Hospitality Forum 2013 and updates for 2014. 
SIAL Business Meetings – meet the inaccessible actors of the Chinese distribution
In partnership with SOCIALWALK, a company specializing in business matching services in online and face-to-face platforms to facilitate SIAL CHINA’s business meetings and matching programs, to connect top quality buyers, agents, supermarkets and distributors with exhibitors.
A total of 36 buyers were benefited before and during the show. They were introduced to relevant exhibitors for business discussions.
The 2nd Edition of Chocolate World
Satisfying the Chinese consumers’ needs for high-end chocolate, SIALCHINA showcased top chocolate brands in our ‘Chocolate World’ zone. Highlights had included Royale from Royal Europe (Belgium); Beijing Triple Crown (Belgium); ROSHEN (Ukraine); SWEETRIP (UK); Gourmand Foods (Shanghai). In 2013, SIALCHINA hosted the second year of ‘Chocolate World’ which showcased a variety of high-end chocolate companies, from producers who hand-make their chocolates to larger manufacturers. 
SIAL WINE WORLD has been left with a successful after taste by co-locating with SIAL CHINA 2013. The show attracted 320 exhibitors to greet their 9735 exclusive visitors, covering 12,000sqm exhibition area. The show featured events with their jaw-dropping certified wine masters and keynote speakers. 
Wine Innovation Forum – Main Event of SIAL WINE WORLD
Under the patronage of OIV-International Organization of Vine and Wine, the 5th edition of the Wine Innovation Forum, an educational space dedicated to wine culture (wine region and grapes varieties) has been a huge success. It also offers a professional platform showcasing innovative win products and exchange of expertise from expert leaders of the wine world.
More than 18 conferences and tastings have gathered an audience of 5,000 visitors. Star-studded with special guest: Ms. Jeannie Cho Lee MW, the Wine Innovation Forum brought new perspectives to Chinese wine audience on their understanding of Chinese wine business and wine business in general! 
Best BuyChinaCompetition – Professional wine competition inChina
For its 14th edition, in partnership with WINE100 - one of the most professional and authoritative wine rating agencies inChina, SIAL WINE WORLD brought an effective platform to showcase exhibitors’ star products.
A world class panel of 9 judges was gathered for this very exciting event. Among them, Annette Scarfe MW and Tim Wildman MW traveled from overseas to join this unique elite panel, and performed a blind tasting of totally 287 wines submitted by the exhibitors and local wine distributors. This event helps to identify the products available from SIAL WINE WORLD exhibitors who offer the best value for money wine from different categories (from 4 to 20 Euros Excellar)!
8 prizes have been awarded to 8 different categories, and 1 Best Wine of All, as Jury prize awarded to The Beauty Shiraz 2010 from Hentley Farm, Barossa Australia. 
ChinaNational Best Sommelier Competition by SOPEXA
A unique showcase this year with our partner SOPEXA, the 4th edition of the China National Best Sommelier Competition finals hosted on the SIAL Wine World show for the first time, on May 7th. This competition brought awareness and prestige to professional sommeliers in China and also provided a benchmark for the local industry. 6 pre-selected candidates from Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai gathered together to compete for the Best Sommelier of the year. The winner of the 2013 edition is Mr Xu ZHANG (Corporate Trainer at Total Wine,US wine retail chain).  
SIAL VIP Gala Dinner
Hosted on 8th May at Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel, combining fantastic wines, gourmet food and Turkish dancing entertainment, 400 VIP exhibitors and buyers celebrated the great success of SIAL CHINA & SIAL WINE WORLD 2013! 
Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution has inspired SIALCHINAthat, not the strongest but the responsive and adaptive ones which survive. SIAL CHINA 2014 invites everyone to be part of its evolution to respond and adapt to the even changing market trends and demands.
