Tetanus is an acute, often fatal disease of the nervous system that is caused by neurotoxins (150 kDa polypeptide chain) produced by a rod-shaped, gram-positive, anaerobic and spore forming bacterium which resembles drumstick or tennis racket’s appearance called Clostridium tetani.
