This interview is, in my opinion, a pure American point of view of corn silage (corn grain selection, rations with lots of alfalfa and co-products).
It can't be extrapolated to France. European seeds breeders have differentiated their maize programs: corn grain and corn silage programs for over 30 years. Corn silage quality stems and leaves has improved continuously. Today, on our market we can find high energetic hybrids without starch overload ... source of feed efficiency in our "classic" rations VL with high proportion of maize in french s'lowland areas.
