Kemin organizes informative seminar on heat stress with Progressive Dairy Farmers Association

Kemin explained the various challenges faced by dairy farmers during summers in a recent seminar at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) in Ludhiana on May 10, 2012. The impact of heat stress on dairy farming was the focus of discussion during the seminar. About 300 PDFA farmers from all over Punjab participated in the seminar.

Dr. Sudhir Singh, regional technical manager for the animal nutrition and health division of Kemin, explained strategic practices for managing heat stress and presented the focus of the animal nutrition and health division to dairy farmers. During the seminar, dairy farmers were also presented with the range of Kemin products available for dairy animals to improve their efficiency and health. Apart from learning how to combat heat stress and manage animal productivity and reproduction, attendees learned more about the Customer Laboratory Services (CLS) Kemin provides. Dairy farmers and feed formulators can utilize CLS for testing feed/farm ingredients for different microbiological and biochemical parameters.

This seminar is one of the many initiatives of Kemin aimed at educating dairy farmers on the key challenges faced by the industry and the available solutions to combat them.
