Summary In this paper comparison of efficiency of commercially available antibiotic susceptibility test MASTiK ® with traditionally used Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method in cow mastitis cases was described. it is a good technique for screening the mastitis causing bacteria in this way selection of antibiotics become very easy.

It is a good test for field vets but at the same time collecting samples in sterile conditon is also diffcult. Sometimes it happens that invitro sensitive antibiotics do not have results when used for the clinical case.

This is a very good help to the field veterinarians.Faster method for identification of causative microorganism and finally the treatment. Even after doing all this could we bring the cow to the level of production prior to the infection.However Matik is a very helpful tool for the practicing vets,as they can prevent the further loss of milk production
