With the August 2009 sire summaries, International Protein Sires (IPS) proven sire lineup realized superb gains.  "Our new releases are formidable breed leaders.  And bulls in our former battery realized significant advancements," stated Ron Sersland, President and CEO.
New offerings include, No-Fla Loiss LEDGEND with +1770 GTPI.  Classified Excellent, Legend is a solid type bull across the board, including a +2.39 foot and leg composite rating.  Legend is +512NM$ with exceptional components; +.21% fat and +.02% protein.  And, the bull offers great fitness traits at +2.9 productive life and 2.53 SCS along with 5% calving ease.  Sired by Mtoto, this breed leader descends from a Very Good-87 Aerostar daughter while his grandam is an Excellent daughter of Fancy Paul.
IPS continues to bolster their genetic offering for the red enthusiast with the introduction of 6HO985 Tony-Red.  Ranked #4 red sire on the Holstein Association's Top 50 Red/Red Carrier Sire list, Tony debuts at +1640 TPI.  Sired by Paradox, Tony descends from the heart of the highly respected Hickorymea Holstein herd.  His dam is an Excellent daughter of Cliffhanger.  The grandam is an Excellent Commotion daughter while the third dam a Very Good-88 Aerostar.  Tony reflects the workability of his cow family, being +1,620 milk.  In addition his type traits are notable along with strong fitness traits.
6HO1030 Lilyman continues to rack up impressive production numbers being +2505 milk after adding another 120-second crop daughters.  This latest boost of 501 pounds milk places Lilyman at #6 on the Holsteins Association's Top 50 Bulls for PTA milk.  Lilyman's latest TPI rating is +1733 as result of this new data.  Another breed leader at #23 on the same Holstein production list is 6HO1042 Linley at +2237M.
Another bright star, Dewgood GOLD SPIKLE, enters the IPS scene through his high genomics test results.  This very promising young sire touts impressive credentials for both production and type traits.  Gold Spike is from a Very Good-88 two-year-old daughter of Goldwyn while his grandam is an Excellent-91 bell-ringing daughter of BW Marshall.
"Our business is breeding cows... not numbers."  And so it follows that for the third consecutive sire summary a whooping 57% of the IPS lineup exceeds +2.00 for type.  These statistics support the IPS philosophy that is followed by a rapidly growing customer base.  In addition to the IPS guiding principals of breeding lasting dairy cattle, their semen excels in conception.  According to the latest SCR data issued by USDA, 81% of the IPS bulls are plus for conception.
