Delta Instruments - Dairy analyser focuses on ease of use

Delta Instruments has launched new state-of-the-art dairy analysis equipment designed to enable processors to make more money out of milk and milk derivatives. The Netherlands-based company claims that the LactoScope FTIR Advanced, which incorporates the latest technologies and software platforms available, achieves this because it focuses on ease of use. “The Lactoscope FTIR Advanced has been developed together with laboratory staff and production operators in the dairy industry," said Peter Groeneveld, sales and marketing director for Delta Instruments. “Based on the unmet needs of the dairy industry we have come with a new design of the instrument incorporating the latest technologies resulting in low cost of ownership and the possibility to use the instrument in a production environment as well. Groeneveld claims that the quality assurance of the analysis and the new easy to use software means that both laboratory staff and production operators will find the Lactoscope FTIR Advanced easy to use. It could therefore lower workloads and free up more time. According to Delta, this taps into an underlying need within the food processing sector for more streamlined operations, and a need for easy to use Instruments rather than improved accuracy. This is because accuracy fluctuates with the quality of the calibration samples and is very much depending on the environment in which the instruments are operating in. “The LactoScope FTIR Advanced is operating on a high standard with regards to repeatability and accuracy, and can out perform any rapid dairy analyser in a price/performance comparison," said Groeneveld. "The new integrated design allows for a stable analysis environment without the need for refilling the cleaning and zeroing compartments during a full day of operation.” The LactoScope FTIR Advanced features gold plated contacts, a stable patented Wish Bone interferometer, and a proven hydraulic pump system. The easy front-end accessibility to vital parts, and the modular construction ensure low maintenance costs and a minimum down time with respect to maintenance and service. Delta Instruments BV, an Advanced Instruments company, is a manufacturer of rapid routine analytical instrumentation for the analysis of milk and dairy products.
