Scours in Calves. J. Drackley (University of Illinois)

From my experience dealing with neonatal calf diarrhea, I could see some differences in signs, course, lab findings and post rehydration response between cow and buffalo calves. However, I could not reach an explanation especially in regard to post rehydration response which is way better in cow calf than buffalo calf. The second question is also related to post rehydartion response but in cow calf. After fluid, electrolyte and acid base corrections, cow calf experienced tetanic spasm and could not stand however its mental status and reflexes are ok, some other calves (Frezian) show good and rapid post rehydartion response. However, they could come back to the clinic with seizure and convulsion 2 or 3 days post fluid therapy. I would highly appreciate if you could give me some hints on these comments.
