Only three more weeks before EuroTier 2010 starts. To shorten your waiting time and help you plan your visit optimally, we should like to use this issue of our Newsletter to briefly present the Technical Programme to you.

Forum events

Representatives from the fields of research and academia, consultancy, industry and practical farming will be presenting current trends and key developments on the subjects of Cattle (Hall 13, C20), Pig (Hall 12, E56), Poultry (Hall 11, F53) and Aquaculture (Hall 26, B12) in a series of daily forums and discussion panels.

Specials for cattle and pig farmers

DLG is presenting two Specials addressing themes of vital importance for cattle and pig farmers.
Together with research, teaching and advisory facilities as well as EuroTier exhibitors, the subject of " Dairy cow fertility" will be explored (Hall 13, D14). On an exhibition floor space of 500 m2, the Special "Sow well-being - in group housing" (Hall 12, E47), organised in association with BFL (Bauförderung Landwirtschaft - an organisation devoted to promoting agricultural building construction and optimising livestock management conditions), picks up the topic of husbandry requirements for group management of sows and points up various solutions for keeping animals. Designated experts will be available at the Specials to answer visitors' questions.

Top cattle breeding genetics

The key requirements for forward-looking dairy farming include robust cattle with a long service life. This year once again EuroTier offers an overview of Europe's top cattle-breeding genetics. Some 50 leading German and international breeding organisations and companies will be presenting daughter animals of leading sires at the "TopTierTreff" in Hall 27, F05. The Technical Programme will be rounded off by a large number of Conferences and Congresses.
