Technology transfer on value-added fish products will be introduced during the two-day Training on Fish Processing tomorrow and on Thursday at the Negros Occidental Technology and Livelihood Development Center in Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City.
The training will be organized by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Association of Negros Occidental Food Processors Inc.
Trainers from the Institute of Fish Processing Technology of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences of U.P. in the Visayas will facilitate the technology transfer.
Participants will be introduced to a lecture in preparation for the hands-on training. Demo and workshops will be on the processing of value-added products from shrimps and of value-added products from squid, tilapia and bangus. There will also be Mincing and Surimi processing.
Organizers said expected outputs include squid balls, fish balls, kikiam, salmon fish cake, fish toppings, fish embutido, fish tocino, fish burger, and any by-product of bangus and tilapia.
