Introducing WVEPAH’s Specialized Aquaculture Training Program - Image 1
The World Veterinary Education in Production Animal Health (WVEPAH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing veterinary education and promoting sustainable practices in production animal health. We are excited to present our specialized training program: Module I: Fundamentals of Operational Farm Health Management in Aquaculture.
This course is designed to promote sustainable growth and development in the aquaculture industry.
Program Overview:
  • Our training program combines both online and residential components to offer a comprehensive learning experience. The online phase is available continuously, allowing flexibility for participants with busy schedules. The residential component, featuring hands-on training and networking opportunities, will be held in Padova, Italy, at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie, from October 7th to 11th.
Why Choose Our Program?
  • Comprehensive Operational Farm Health Management Training: We offer complete training in global health management practices for aquaculture farms, ensuring participants can oversee all aspects of farm health and biosecurity and their implementation in the field at farm level, at watershed level, at local or national levels.
  • Enhanced On-the-Ground Relationships: Empower participants to build strong relationships with farmers, helping them better understand their operations and detect diseases early, thereby preventing mortalities. This will also enhance their ability to implement biosecurity plans and measures aiming at more prevention and the reduction of antibiotics use.
  • Improved Communication: Bridging the gap between official veterinarians and farmers, promoting better understanding and collaboration to drive progress through veterinary expertise, leading to improvement of farm health.
  • Adoption of a One-Health Approach, which integrates animal, human, and environmental health to promote food security and public health.
  • Promotion of Global Influence and Reporting: Developing participants' capabilities through effective reporting.
  • Importance of Audit and Surveillance: Emphasizing the critical role of audit and surveillance in building strong biosecurity and maintaining the health and sustainability of aquaculture farms. As a systemic (holistic) approach is required to audit farms efficiently, WVEPAH will give attendees the clues and techniques to this approach.
Our training program offers a unique blend of general education and specialized modules, culminating in a post-graduate diploma awarded by the Université de Montréal and validated globally by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH).
