Projects involving swine industry technology and management will be evaluated, and 12 will be selected to present during the September event in the United States.
The speed at which technology advances in the world may surprise us. But there is a group that is not surprised and is far ahead of the majority of society. They make up the “start-ups.” Most of the time, these companies include a group of people who started a company based on a different and scalable idea.
One of the ways United Pork Americas is encouraging discussion around "The Future of Pork" is through a start-up contest. Applications are due Feb. 15, and 12 start-ups will be selected to present their innovations, solutions and news at the event (September 7-9, 2022).
United Pork Americas is considering a start-up as an organization in its initial phase. The company should have an innovative business proposal and a model that can be replicated and scaled to reach a market and solve a problem or demand for a specific audience.
Flavia Roppa, president of United Pork Americas, highlighted that one of the functions of the event is to present the main innovations in the swine industry.
“Start-ups today are also a reality in swine farming,” she says. “They improve production, generate more reliable data on the farm, simplify the production process and, above all, create more connections in the segment. Start-ups, all over the world, have set growth records. And there's a lot changing in pig farming too; it’s such a promising sector. New technologies revolutionizing the market and generating innovations and some of the most varied products and services in the field and will be presented during the United Pork Americas. We are proud to support start-ups, so that they have an outlet for their innovations. This will be a space to support and encourage work for the evolution of the entire swine industry.”
