Int’l - Charm Sciences announces ROSA® lateral flow test to screen milk for Aflatoxin with quantitative results in just 8 minutes

Charm Sciences is pleased to announce the newest member of the ROSA® lateral flow test line to screen milk for Aflatoxin with quantitative results in just 8 minutes. Charm's ROSA Aflatoxin test is the fastest and most accurate test to quantitate Aflatoxin in raw milk. Following dilution, the sample is added to the ROSA strip and read after 8 minutes. The test gives an accurate and precise result with the digital ROSA Reader in the 0 – 750 ppt range (0 – 0.75 ppb). ROSA’s optimal sensitivity helps to predict impending problems before they exceed the FDA action limit which is 0.5 ppb Aflatoxin M1 (CPG 527.400). The ROSA Reader stores results electronically for record keeping, reporting and analysis. The ROSA Aflatoxin lateral flow test method is time/cost efficient and requires minimal equipment and user involvement. It can be run side by side with ROSA SL Beta-lactam tests. Other ROSA milk tests include the SL-6 Beta-Lactam test, and the SL Tetracycline, Sulfa and Enrofloxicin tests. All ROSA tests can be run on the same equipment. Multiple samples can be prepared, and tested at the same time. ROSA strips are uniquely packaged so that the lateral flow strip only comes in contact with the sample. A dedicated ROSA line with custom detection levels for the International dairy industry is available under the MRL test brand. This includes an MRL Aflatoxin test detecting as low as 50 ppt. Aflatoxin M1 is a less toxic metabolite of aflatoxin B1 that is excreted n the urine and also the milk of dairy cattle. The presence of aflatoxin M1 in milk is an indicator that dairy cows have consumed contaminated feedstuffs, most often corn or cottonseed based.
