Meng Niu and Addcon agree on strategic cooperation

Addcon GmbH of Germany and Meng Niu Group of China have agreed on a strategic cooperation which aims to further improve silage quality and quantity in China. One of the key factors in this agreement is to give more focus on the Kofasil silage additive product range.

The agreement has been finalized and signed during a study tour of Meng Niu Fuyuan international´s top management to Germany. Mr. Zhang Ran, GM of Meng Ao Fuyuan international, Mr. Zhang Jian, Director of roughage and silage of Fuyuan group Mr. Li Qing, ´Director of Quality control of Fuyuan international and Mr. Li Jianjia – Director of equipment of Fuyuan international were accompanied by Addcon´s Mr Adrin Wang. In Germany, Dr. Andreas Milimonka, welcomed the group in Berlin and visited with the group Addcon´s HQ, its R&D facilities as well as its external academic research partners and industry partners.

On November 12th morning, the group visited a dairy farm near city Halle with 1,000 dry cows and 1150 dairy cows. During the farm tour the group could see the total automatically system. There are only 4 workers for 1150 dairy cows while the owner can sit before TV at home control everything with smart phone. The guests asked lots of questions and compared the differences between China and the German dairy cow industry.

After the farm touring, the group went to visit Agravis, one of the biggest agricultural cooperatives in Germany. The Mengniu team was very interested with Germany experience of dealing with the cow manure as this topic becomes the biggest challenge for huge size dairy farms in China nowadays.

Later that days the study tour continued in the city of Halle, where a meeting with Prof. Annette Zeyner, Head of Animal Nutrition Group, Institute of Agricultural and Nutrition, Martin Luther University took place.
Prof. Zeyner gave us a presentation about her team and research and the visitors could discuss some questions. One of the reports about adding amylase in TMR and its possible increase milk yield drew a lot of attention.
Also Mr. Zhang Jian gave a short speech about Mengniu China and mentioned several topics are of major interest in the group right now. Those are

1. How to make high quality silages especially wheat and alfalfa silages.
2. Different protein sources rather than soybeans.
3. Manure handling and distribution to cropland.

In the end of the discussion Meng Niu invited Prof. Zeyner and Dr. Milimonka to come to China and to visit Meng Niu HQ in near future. Then they can establish a bridge between Meng Niu China and Germany universities.

On November 13th morning the group went to Bitterfeld to visit Addcon HQ. There, the Meng Niu team was greeted by Mrs Julia Kochannek, CFO and co-owner of Addcon. Dr. Andreas Milimonka gave a presentation about the group of companies and the products and solutions for different kind of silages.

Mr. Zhangjian showed his great interests about Addcon´s solution about wheat silage, he said that the cooperation should start with wheat silage making next April. He also invites Dr. Andreas Milimonka to come to China next April and guide them how to make high quality wheat silage.

After the meeting, Dr. Andreas Milimonka showed the group the office, the 2 production sites and the R&D labs.

On November 14th, the Meng Niu team continued its trip to the Eurotier exhibition in Hannover where the framework agreement with Addcon GmbH had been officially signed. Their 2 colleagues from Meng Niu international resource center and Meniu--Arla Foods also joined the event.
