Forum: Performance of Broiler Breeders in battery cages

Hi Everyone

I am working for a company which is planning to construct a new broiler breeding farm. We already have a broiler breeding farm and we have been using California type cage system (Open house) successfully for the past 10 years. In our research, we have found that battery cages (EC system) are being used for broiler breeders. Now, we are confused whether we need to move to the new system or use the regular California cages.

I hope someone can throw more light into this topic. We are more concerned over the performance of the broiler breeders in battery cages.

Muy interesante el artículo. En el artículo comenta que en un material con invasión extensa de moho durante el almacenamiento, puede reducir el valor alimenticio del mismo. Mi pregunta es: Si estoy almacenando heno de alfalfa (pacas) de dos tipos de humedades, la una de 12-13% y la otra 17-20% en un cuarto cuyas condiciones ambientales del lugar corresponden a HR promedio de 75%  con rangos de 60 - 90% y temperatura promedio de 14ºC. Tengo los siguientes resultados micológicos:

EN EL PRIMER CASO: heno con humedad del 12-13% antes de almacenar en el cuarto,

Los dos tipos de pacas de heno fueron almacenados en el mismo cuarto por separado. Mi pregunta es : con las ufc/ g heno indicadas en los dos casos debería reducir el contenido de proteína bruta y cenizas y aumentar fibra cruda en mi análisis químico del heno? Según bibliografías me indica que los hongos son abundantes en el forraje y además que a valores superiores a 1.000.000 ufc/g material se considera que hay pérdida de calidad química.
