Introduction Avian pneumovirus (APV) is the causative agent of turkey rhinotracheitis (TRT) and swollen head syndrome (SHS) in turkeys and chickens, respectively (Buys et al. , 1989). dear Dr Abdullah: Good article about avian pneumovirus infection in commercial poultry farms. Did you or do you come across any breaks of SHS in the sero-positive flocks during any time of their production cycle especially during peaking phase of lay. Your response is cordially welcome.
