HELP PIGS TO EXPLOIT THEIR GROWTH POTENTIAL IN THE FARROWING UNIT
Unique opportunity

Using MilkCaps and PrestarterCaps the professional farmer now has a new opportunity to exploit the pigs' growth potential right from the beginning.
MilkCaps / PrestarterCaps is produced by means of the low impact caps technology. This technology makes it possible to produce a highly digestible feed in dry form while maintaining the sensitive and highly digestible nutrients. With the caps technology it is possible to achieve the hygiene and handling advantages known from dry feed.

Nutritionally, the entire wheat component partly is of very high quality and partly heat-treated, which means that the digestibility is high, and the strain on the gastrointestinal tract is reduced.
Handling

MilkCaps and PrestarterCaps is handled easily and seamlessly with focus on hygiene and slipping ability. This means easier feeding, not causing problems with propagation of pathogenic bacteria, which is the case, when applicating milk and milk products for the pig in farrowing and climate units.

Experiments have shown that the number of pathogenic bacteria in milk products increases con-siderably the first 3 hours after the application, and even if there is made attempts to prevent this with an active culture of lactic acid bacteria in the product, this does not inhibit the pathogenic bacteria.

To applicate both dairy products and the first actual dry feed in Caps form makes the habituation to dry feed easier, as the pigs are already acclimated to a dry product. Subsequently the pigs are continuously given Caps, thus ensuring optimum adaptation to the feed.
Effect of the feed

Sows

Using this unique feed solution reduces the weight loss of the sow. The smaller weight loss entails that the sow is in better body condition and has an improved energy balance after weaning, which will result in a better heat with more shed eggs. Other factors being equal, the result is an increased number of pigs at the next litter and more pigs per year sow.
Effect in Piglets

The unique feed solution provides increased growth in the farrowing house, as evidenced by in-creased litter weight at weaning. An early high dry matter intake along with a higher weaning weight causes a seamless weaning, because of the gastrointestinal system functioning optimally. The higher weaning weight and mature intestines enable earlier introduction of cheaper com-pound feed, which will contribute positively to the profit in the weaning unit.

In herds, where pigs are sold at weaning, there is a direct economic effect from a high weight, but also with respect to quality there are advantages, as the more robust pigs to a greater extent are able to sustain a higher premium on the calculated price.

Where to use the feed

Farrowing unit

MilkCaps and PrestarterCaps provides new opportunities for additional feeding of piglets in the farrowing house.

The use of this feed combination provides increased weaning weight and reduced weight loss in the sow.
After weaning

Superprestarter

It is important to ensure the pigs’ maximum feed intake in the farrowing house. Higher consumption of feed increases the weaning weight and provides easier weaning. To minimize sow weight loss and achieve the best possible weaning weight and most robust pig in the farrowing house, use the MilkCaps/PrestarterCaps combination, if necessary supplemented by an additional regular weaning feed.

After weaning, the smallest pigs often weigh down to 4 - 5 kg; they can be fed optimally with a known feed, either MilkCaps or PrestarterCaps.
Options with the unique concept

MilkCaps can be used according to requirements at each individual farm. MilkCaps can be mixed in water 1:1, can be mixed with piglet feed in pellets and can be used as milk supplement in meal feed and muesli.
Use after weaning

Weaning weight varies. The difference between the smallest and largest pig can easily amount to 4-5 kg.
