A very good finding. Kindly add more articles on the benefits of PRRS and PCV2 vaccinations, in order to help us decide if we are going to vaccinate our herds even though farms are on a high-health status or not.
Hi Jenny and Rod -
A Filipino veterinarian, Dr. Jay Jacela, is part of the KSU PCV Research Team and was heavily involved in these PCV2 studies. He was the primary investigator of 2 of the 4 trials mentioned in the article. In the 2nd and 4th study, Circumvent PCV (Intervet) was used and in the dose study, Fort Dodge PCV vaccine (1-dose) and the Intervet PCV vaccine (2-dose) was used. I wouldn't be surprised if the PCV vaccine used in the 1st study was Intervet's vaccine.
In the case of PRRS and PCVAD positive herds. What's the first vaccine your choose?
