Australia - Pig meat analysis angers pork industry

The pork industry is fuming that the final analysis permitting more pig meat imports won't be reviewed under Coalition policy. Australian Pork Limited has taken legal action against the Government over the analysis, and both Labor and the Democrats say it should be done again. APL's Nigel Smith says if the Coalition promised a review, his group would consider dropping the court action. "Of course, certainly, if it's withdrawn obviously we would have to go back to the board for their reconsideration; but let me tell you as far as we're concerned the previous IRA is also... you know, we're very concerned about it. "I mean, this stage was a new IRA based on the previous one; as far as we're concerned the previous one is also flawed and it does not address the major disease that is ravaging the world, which is PMWS."
