Iowa Swine Day is June 27

Iowa Swine Day 2013 is coming up June 27^th in Ames.  Conference co-chair Dr. John Patience says one of the sessions will feature Dr. Bjorne Pedersen from Denmark talking about global competitiveness.

“He consults worldwide and we’re asking him ‘well, what’s it going to take for the U.S. to remain competitive’,” Patience says. “We’re very competitive right now, but we’re very dependent on the international marketplace—over a quarter of our pigs go for export. 

“So what will we need to do to make sure we remain competitive in the future.”

Also scheduled to speak is Washington, D.C. consultant Rick Berman, founder of HumaneWatch.  He’ll discuss the “Animal Rights Agenda and Animal Production”.
