Between 2001 and 2008 Dr. Patrick Schlegel worked for the industry and was active in research on trace mineral bioavailability. In 2010 he finalized his PhD at AgroParisTech in Paris entitled “Dietary factors affecting zinc bioavailability in poultry and pigs”. Since 2008, he has worked for the federal dairy and pig research station Agroscope in Switzerland. His actual research topics are the characterization of trace mineral contents in forage and feed ingredients, the mineral antagonism in dairy cattle and the calcium and phosphorus nutrition in pigs.
