Professional experience:
Dr. Suman Keerthi obtained his Ph.D in extremophile microalgal cultures and their physiology. He has received good training in the isolation of microalgae, establishing cultures in defined media; test their sterility, set up a null hypothesis and design statistically valid experiments. He is the first to isolate several microalgae including picoplankters native to the Indian seas and worked on them. His worked earned a Ph.D with an excellent commendation from outstanding international scientists. He has 1. isolated and brought under culture for the first time from tropical waters 47 strains of microalgae from the Bay of Bengal, 2. Established their taxonomic status using molecular techniques, 3. Studied their growth rates 4.
