Dr. Gerhold received his DVM (2001) from Purdue University and a MS
(2007) and PhD (2010), focusing on avian protozoal parasites, from the
University of Georgia. He did a post-doctoral fellowship on the
epidemiology of Lyme disease at the University of Tennessee. He is now
an assistant professor of parasitology in the College of Veterinary
Medicine at The University of Tennessee. His areas of interest include avian parasites, parasite
epidemiology, and wildlife diseases.
