We don't have a lot of those type food for extra can one feed dry leaves of pepermint and maybe fresh barley green, what about fly's from fly catshers hanging around the farm

Is it or not advisable to feed on small scale, the fly's and their larwa from the normal fly catchers that hangs around the farm, wil it bring sickness to the chickens I have only like 800 per week chickens in 6 sheds, all this to help feeding cost I am from South Africa.

I want to feed my broiler chicks some black soldier fly larwe and green barley that I grow in aquaponics , they do get the normal starter and grower feed but with this method I hope to save on food prices, in South Africa everything is abnormal expensive due to money exghance olmost 11 times less than us Dollar.
