Gonzalo Tuñon completed his PhD thesis on “Strategies to increase utilisation of perennial ryegrass
swards for dairy cows”, acquiring a deep knowledge of the principles of efficient dairy production in
pastoral systems. He has substantive on-farm experience on nutrition, reproduction and health of
the dairy cow. His aim is to integrate the management of cows and forages into dairy systems that
match cow potential with production conditions, are environmentally sound and, ultimately, are
people sustainable.He´s now Technical Manager at New Zealand Farming Systems Uruguay.
