He completed his Ph.D. in 1992 specializing in environmental physiology, animal behaviour and welfare. Upon receiving his degree he continued his career as R&D director at the Danish Bacon and Meat Council, where he was coordinator of applied research projects regarding pig housing, health and welfare. Since October 2001 he was head of the Housing and Production Systems Department. October 2002 he became R&D Manager at Egebjerg one of the largest Danish pig equipment manufacturers. Later, he became general manager of the same company. In June 2004 he started his own company Danish Farm Design
