Zagro acquires BASF Taiwan’s Animal Nutrition Premix Plant

Published: December 27, 2007
Source : Zagro Singapore Pte. Ltd.
Singapore-based Zagro Group has acquired the animal nutrition premix business from BASF Taiwan's Animal Nutrition unit under its Fine Chemicals operating division.

As part of the acquisition, Zagro will take over the entire running of BASF Taiwan’s animal nutrition premix business including ownership of its manufacturing facility in Nankang Industrial Zone, Nan-Tou City, Taiwan, spreading over a land area of 4920 square meters.

This acquisition is expected to lift Zagro's top and bottom lines by double digits and an opportunity to cross sell its other businesses including crop care, animal health and aquaculture.

The acquired business is a strategic fit to Zagro as it complements Zagro’s existing business units and immediately affords Zagro a valuable springboard into another Asian market.

Apart from manufacturing and distributing a wide range of nutrition and protection products for livestock, aquatic animals and crops, Zagro also distributes pharmaceutical raw materials, specialty chemicals and products for public health. Its renowned Pacific Lab Services provides a comprehensive range of laboratory analyses and tests.

I enjoy this good news that Zagro being an Asian Company has bought BASF Taiwan's Premix Plant & Facilities. BASF as a German company is one of the giant and respected names globally in the area of vitamin & premix manufacturing. Go ahead Zagro !
