The Distillers Grains Technology Council has taken the annual symposium virtual and with a new format: as an on-line webinar held in three occurrences. The first session was completed on May 13th, the second on June 10th, and this third part will take place on July 8th.
Because sponsors agreed to offset the costs of the technology, the promotion of these seminars are at no cost to attendees, with each webinar lasting 90 minutes and featuring many of the speakers that were scheduled to appear in Omaha.
This third session is at 9:00 AM (Central Time) and will be sponsored by ST Equipment & Technology and BetaTec.
July 8 Session details
Opening remarks, DGTC Education and Outreach
Dr. Kurt Rosentrater, Executive Director DGTC.
Novel Post-Drying Fraction Technology for High Protein DDGS
Mr. Kyle Flynn, Director of Business Development, ST Equipment & Technology.
Abstract: Electrostatic separation is a completely dry process requiring no water or chemicals. Dry electrostatic separation methods offer an opportunity to generate high protein DDGS co-products for use as a high value animal feed ingredient. The protein concentration takes place after the DDGS dryer and is completely independent of the ethanol process.
Results from a 3-year Inter-Laboratory Study of Deoxynivalenol in Cereal Grains
Mr. Ron Sarver, Director of Biochemistry and Analytical Chemistry, NEOGEN CORP.
Abstract: Ground corn and wheat samples contaminated with known amounts of deoxynivalenol (DON) along with standard solutions were analyzed by several analytical laboratories including NEOGEN over a three-year period. Accuracy, precision and long-term consistency of results from each laboratory will be discussed.
DDGS: International Market Drivers and Price Risk Management
Mr. Sergio Alvarado, S&P Global Platts.
Abstract: As the leading publisher of commodity information S&P Global Platts is experienced providing essential market information including prices. Join Sergio Alvarado as he presents on the impact of COVID-19 on the DDGS market. He will also focus on what a price assessment is, how we publish DDGS information and how this can be used to reduce risk.
