Dynamic return to in-person event featuring top research, networking and more

Ottawa, ONTARIO — Canada’s animal nutrition community is poised to come together with renewed energy and excitement with the return of its in-person signature national conference.
New developments in animal nutrition which support a sustainable feed and livestock sector will be featured at the 6th annual Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada (ANCC). The conference hosted by the Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC), the national trade association for Canada’s feed industry, will be offered in a hybrid format allowing for both in-person and virtual attendees.
“We are very pleased to invite everyone across the animal nutrition community to join us for our flagship national event,” says Renee Petri of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, ANCC Program Co-Chair. “There is certainly a lot of buzz and excitement with the return of our regular in-person format – people are really looking forward to meeting face-to-face and sharing ideas with colleagues from across the country. At the same time, by also offering an online option we can ensure everyone will have the opportunity to participate. Join us for a great conference!”

Hear from the experts
The ANCC is a dynamic conference that brings together researchers and feed industry specialists from across Canada and around the world to exchange knowledge about the latest scientific developments related to livestock nutrition. The multi-species, scientific program features engaging sessions delivered by leading experts who will lay the foundation for continued industry progress.
Under the theme, “Feed production and formulation technologies: considerations for a sustainable industry,” animal nutrition professionals can expect to enrich their knowledge on topics ranging from climate neutral beef and dairy production in Canada to feed formulation for sustainable agriculture. There is also a pre-conference symposium, sponsored by ADM Nutrition, featuring insights on current topics shaping the future of animal nutrition. Those who have not done so already are encouraged to register as soon as possible on the ANCC website to secure their spot at this year’s event.
“Advances in animal nutrition have never been more important to the success and sustainability of feed and livestock industries,” says Rhett Arnason of More Than Just Feed Inc., ANAC Board Representative. “ANCC 2022 will bring the animal nutrition industry together to experience the next generation of innovation – setting the tone for collaboration and progress for the remainder of the year and beyond.”

Network with industry leaders
As the conference returns to an in-person format for the first time since 2019, it offers unique opportunities to engage and network with widely respected experts, including nutritionists and livestock feed specialists.

Industry partnership
Strong sponsorship has set the stage for a successful event, says Holly McGill of Wallenstein Feed & Supply, Sponsorship Co-Chair. “The excellent support for this event continues for 2022. Thank you to all of our valued sponsors who are pivotal to making the conference happen and allowing for everything from the top speakers to student initiatives.” For companies who have not yet secured sponsorship there are still opportunities, she notes, including exhibitor booths in the Industry Partner Showcase.

Graduate student participation
Student participation is also a key component of the conference. Graduate students will present their research in the Student Showcase and have the opportunity to network with industry leaders. This year’s conference will feature ANCC’s first-ever in-person Student Networking Event, says Renée Benczik of Wallenstein Feed & Supply, Student Events Co-chair.
“Representatives from different segments of the Canadian feed industry will discuss their career experiences in a live panel discussion. Afterwards, students will participate in a speed-meeting style activity where they will have the opportunity to ask questions to the panelists and further engage with ANCC participants.”
“The research and knowledge featured at ANCC is second to none for relevance to the animal nutrition and feed industry community,” says Rex Newkirk of the University of Saskatchewan, Academic Co-Chair. “There is something new for everyone to learn, and participants will come away with leading-edge information and insights to boost their success.”
For those who are unable to travel, the conference sessions will also be live-streamed for virtual attendees. Both in-person and virtual participants will have access to recorded versions of the sessions to view at their convenience after the event.
