Dynamic event features the latest science, trends, networking and more

Ottawa, ONTARIO – Bringing together researchers and feed industry specialists for an exceptional learning and networking opportunity is the focus as the Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada (ANCC) welcomes participants May 9-11 in Montreal, Quebec.
The 7th annual conference is hosted by the Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC), the national trade association for Canada’s feed industry.
“New developments in animal nutrition are expanding opportunities for a strong and sustainable animal feed industry, supporting innovation and success for livestock production across multiple species,” says Holly McGill of Elanco, Program Chair for ANCC 2023. “We look forward to delivering a high-quality conference and robust scientific program, allowing participants to learn about the latest advances directly from top speakers and experts while exchanging knowledge with industry colleagues.”
With a conference theme of “Strengthening the Nutritional Foundation for Animal and Industry Resiliency,” the event showcases animal nutrition as a driving factor for continuous improvement and navigating turbulent times.
“The last two-and-a-half years have really challenged our feed industry to support our customers during a period of increased volatility impacting ingredient availability and costs,” says Mark Cameron of More Than Just Feed, Chair of the ANAC Nutrition Committee. “We’ve had to think more out of the box on how to build feed products and strategies that are not only innovative but also cost competitive, to maximize key factors such as production efficiency as well as animal health and performance. The conference showcases many of the leading opportunities, for both today and the future.”
The ANCC agenda includes a pre-conference symposium on “Emerging Trends in Animal Nutrition,” plenary sessions offering big picture insights from leading speakers, and focused monogastric and ruminant sessions. The event also features industry partner exhibitors and strong graduate student participation, including a student networking event and graduate research presentations.
“Students represent the next generation of our industry and are a critical part of the conference,” says Renee Petri of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, ANCC Academic Chair. "A fun component this year will be the networking event encouraging students to engage with industry professionals and discover the variety of career paths available in the field of livestock nutrition."
“Strong sponsorship support has set the stage for an outstanding conference,” says Matt Schotsman of Floradale Feed Mill, ANCC Sponsorship Chair. “There are still sponsorship opportunities available, including participation in the industry partner showcase and becoming an exclusive sponsor of one of our conference speakers.”
Those who have not done so already are encouraged to register as soon as possible on the ANCC website to secure their spot. In addition to in-person attendance, the event also offers a virtual registration option. All presentations will be recorded for on-demand viewing by registrants.
