ARLINGTON, Va. – The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) congratulates Luke Lindberg for his Senate confirmation over the weekend as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s undersecretary for trade and foreign affairs.
Lindberg previously served as chief of staff at the Export-Import Bank during the previous Trump administration. He also led South Dakota Trade as its president and CEO, supporting the state’s businesses in navigating global markets. He has held a senior fellowship at the America First Policy Institute, co-founded by Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins. Committed to eliminating the $49.5 billion agricultural trade deficit, Lindberg has emphasized that he plans to collaborate with commodity groups and champion U.S. producers on the global stage.
AFIA’s President and CEO Constance Cullman issued the following statement today following the 77-18 Senate vote on Capitol Hill.
“Congratulations to Luke Lindberg on his well-deserved confirmation as USDA undersecretary for trade and foreign agricultural affairs. Lindberg brings a deep understanding of global trade and a strong track record of advocating for American agriculture. His leadership comes at a critical time, and we’re confident he will be a powerful voice in opening new markets, strengthening trade relationships and advancing the competitiveness of U.S. agricultural exports, which include animal food. We look forward to working closely with him in support of our nation’s producers and animal food manufacturers.”
