La habronema es sensible a la Ivermectina, Doramectina, Trioclorfon (Metrifonato).  la Ivermectina y Doramectina se usa en caballos a 200 microgramos/kg de peso vía oral o parenteral, El Trioclorfon (Metrifonato) se usa en caballos a dosis de 35 mg/kg de peso vía oral disuelto en agua, melaza o directamente con sonda. Para control del prurito, se usa Difenhidramina maleato a 1 mg/kg vía IM x 5 días.  Si es habronema en piel puede aplicarse Localmente un larvicida-cicatrizante que contenga Clorpirifos.
