Apurva; I would like to share my previous experience in the use of both materials in Poultry Feed. Bentonite has been used in the past as an ingredient to agglutinate other ingredients in the formulation. This was used mainly in formulas difficult to pelletize having a certain quantities of by-products instead cereals. HSCAS later were introduced as an aflatoxin binder due to the high cationic interchange characteristic of this material with the toxins. Neither of both materials provide any nutritional benefits to the formulation such as protein, energy, etc. They are tempted to be used as ingredients to make produce "safer" and better quality (physical) pellets. Clinoptilolite and Phyllosilicate are broader classifications of naturally occurring materials.

Na/Ca bentonite is a part of phyllosilicate, however, it is safe to call all natural materials under HSCAS.
