International Protein Sires (IPS) is pleased to announce that Chrissy Wendorf has been selected to fill the Genetic Intern position. As intern, Chrissy’s responsibilities include evaluation of young sire daughters, locating young sire daughters to photograph and updating the young sire database.
“Along with her dairy farm background experiences, Chrissy has achieved recognition in dairy cattle evaluation that qualify her for the position,” stated Ron Sersland, President and CEO of IPS.
Chrissy grew up on her parents’ registered Holstein farm near Viroqua, Wisconsin. She worked closely with Kent and Anna Wendorf at Kentdor Holsteins as herd assistant. She helped with sire selection and mating, processed registration applications as well as clipped for classification and showing.
Chrissy will be a senior in the fall at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Dairy Science. As a member of the UW-Madison Dairy Judging team, Chrissy was high individual at the 2006 All-American Dairy Judging Contest in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was recognized as the 2006 Wisconsin Outstanding Holstein girl. And she is a finalist for National Outstanding Holstein Girl.
