Students from the National Centre for Dairy Education Australia have topped their three recent state awards with a win in the National Young Achievement Australia business development awards.
At the YAA national awards function in Sydney last week the three students representing their "Why ADAD" company spoke of their pride and vision for the dairy industry as they accepted the Amcor-sponsored Community Values Award on behalf of their class mates.
The Community Values award was judged on a company's operations and/or development of a product or service that:
• has made a significant or lasting impact on the community;
• contributes to the preservation, restoration or enhancement of the environment;
• improves the way of life for community members;
• makes accessible information or education, or
• promotes awareness of Australian history or current affairs.
The NCDEA's students' 'Why ADAD' company developed and sold garments with a 'Proud to Dairy' insignia with the goal "to promote youthful pride in an evolving dairy industry".
Why ADAD launched its products at the Victorian Dairy Conference in June and their 'Proud to Dairy' logo was used as the closing scene.
