Personal accounts:

"I was astounded by the international reach of the SOMMET!

ACIME Technology has developed a new product, the "Horn’up®", a dehorner for cattle and goats that simplifies the breeder's job and complies with animal welfare regulations. “We unveiled it at the Sommet de l’Elevage 2010 alongside our French distributor, with the aim of providing marketing backup and securing contacts for export. I was astounded by the international reach of this show! Counting both livestock breeders and potential importer contacts, we made a hundred-odd contacts a day. The result was extremely encouraging and it is more than likely that we will be exhibiting as a manufacturer, and thus with our own stand, in 2011."

Pascal FONCHAIN, senior manager, ACIME Technology

"The SOMMET really is one of the best livestock trade shows in the world!

We attended the SOMMET DE L’ELEVAGE for the first time in 2005, for the National Charolais Competition. This is a unique place where you can see the very best examples of the breed and the genetics available for export, all live and direct. The visits to farms (with interpreter) also provide an outstanding opportunity to discover the state of play of livestock breeding in France. The show's International Business Club is equally well organised and has enabled us to meet other breeders from the world over and make some very interesting contacts.
The SOMMET really is one of the best livestock trade shows in the world – the sector benchmark for breeders of French beef cattle like us. "

Géraldine HASSALL,
ex-President of the Association of Charolais Breeders in New-Zealand
