The second meeting of the young European Federation of WPSA, founded in Rome during the spring of 1959, was held in Bologna in 1962. After 44 years it is a pleasure to invite you once again to Italy to the XII European Poultry Conference (EPC), which will be held in Verona from September 10 to 14, 2006.

The scientific programme of the XII European Poultry Conference has been developed in collaboration with the Chairmen of the Working Groups. It will be focus on the main issues currently related to poultry research and production in order to add to and improve knowledge in a world where information and innovations are spread rapidly.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME

Plenary lectures presented by leaders in their field related to the following themes: 1 - Changes in poultry production and trade worldwide.
2 - Poultry meat trends and consumer attitudes.
3 - Molecular control of disease resistance.
4 - Avian influenza: a global threat.
5 - Reproductive efficiency in meat type selected breeders: current and future strategies.
6 - Defining and predicting changes in nutrient requirements of poultry.

Symposia will focus the state of the art in the following topics:

Oral communications and posters will be grouped according to the topics of the Symposia. Posters will be permanently exposed from Monday to Wednesday.

The Conference will represent a good opportunity to up date the knowledge on different poultry-related fields and also to address the future research projects in an economical climate characterised by continuous restrictions. Moreover, the XII European Poultry Conference will represent an opportunity to put together poultry researchers and technicians especially from European, Mediterranean and Middle East countries.
