Information

The 7th annual World Poultry conference comes in a year characterised by high feed costs and sporadic avian flu outbreaks, but there are clear signs of optimism as global poultrymeat demand is on the rise.

Recent figures reveal that Brazil will be stepping up production by 10% in 2008, with the increased output heading to domestic and foreign markets. The US will also see a rise in production and will be competing with Brazil for market share in China and Russia.

China raised poultrymeat imports by a significant 35% in 2007. Meanwhile, the EU is expected to see a rise in lower-cost Brazilian poultrymeat imports, causing concern for EU producers already battling with high feed costs.

Our panel of expert speakers will be examining key markets around the world and highlighting changing consumer demands and trends. In addition, the EU response to avian influenza outbreaks will come under the spotlight, as well as how producers and processors can maintain both food safety and animal welfare standards.

World Poultry 2008 brings together top global poultry processors, breeders and producers, including Sun Valley, DaChan Food Asia and Sadia, to examine industry prospects for global trade and poultry production.

Join speakers from Europe, Brazil, Asia, Russia and the US, who will assess prospects for trade, policy, and consumer trends in what will be another challenging year for the poultrymeat industry.
