The speakers

Philip Hammond went to the Royal Veterinary College in London and was involved
in the development of a PCR test for the detection of Mycoplasma synoviae with
strain identification capability. He is a partner in a specialised private poultry practice
in Norfolk, England providing consultancy to the poultry sector including turkeys,
chickens, ducks and gamebirds.

Dr Willem Wijmenga graduated from Utrecht University Veterinary School in 1996.
After working as a veterinarian in various private poultry practices he joined Fort
Dodge Animal Health at the beginning of 2001 as their business manager, poultry,
for the Netherlands and later Benelux. His responsibilities include coordination and
technical support for the IB/TRT PCR testing for the EMEA region.

Dr Jan-kees van den Wijngaard is currently biological operations director for Pfizer
Poultry Heath Division-Embrex Europe. Previously he has worked in veterinary
practice and extensively as a specialist in poultry health in the Netherlands. Jan-Kees
is a past chairman of the Dutch branch of the WVPA.

Dr Marinus Bart van Leerdam has a wealth of experience in the avian diagnostic field
and is the co-founder and director of BioChek bv in Holland, a major player in the
European poultry diagnostics market.

Dr Luciano Gobbi obtained his degree in veterinary medicine from the University of
Parma, Italy, and he has a post-graduate diploma in avian pathology from the
University of Milan. Since graduating he has worked for a number of multinational
companies within the pharmaceutical industries and joined Schering-Plough Animal
Health in 1998. In 2005 he was named technical services manager with responsibility
for the product development and technical services for their Poultry Business Unit.

Dr Francesco Prandini graduated in veterinary medicine from Bologna University in
1988. Before joining Merial he spent 13 years as a poultry veterinarian in different
major poultry companies in Italy. Francesco joined Merial in 2000 and is now the
technical service manager of the avian business operation in the EMEA region.

Dr Yannick Gardin is scientific director for poultry vaccines of Ceva Santé Animale.
After a few years working in practice and as technical adviser in a feedstuff company,
he joined Intervet where he worked for 12 years as technical adviser in France and
some French speaking countries for small animals and pig vaccines. In 2005 he
began to focus solely on poultry vaccines.

Pieter Kühne graduated in veterinary medicine from the University of Utrecht in 1987.
After 12 years working as a poultry veterinarian in private practice he joined Intervet.
As technical manager, poultry products, in the international marketing department,
Pieter works in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa above the Sahara.
