In its role as the nation''s platform on animal production and meat processing, VIV China showcases the industry''s developments by the Feed to Meat concept. Feed to meat brings together supply and demand within the complete animal protein chain. The driver behind the chain concept is that animal feed and animal health are vital for meat quality and safety. VIV China will represent every step in the meat production process. Related topics will be featured in the VIV China Conference.

The Intestinal Health Scientific Interest Group (ihsig) group organizes a symposium on intestinal health in poultry for veterinarians, poultry producers, scientists, and regulatory authorities. International speakers will provide information on the gut microbiota composition and its effects on the host response, and how this relates to optimal animal performance. This event will be held in Gent, Belgium, March 28-29, 2012.

Building on the strong tradition that has established the IHW as the premiere international scientific meeting on herpesviruses, the 37th annual International Herpesvirus Workshop (IHW) will be held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, August 4-9, 2012.
