A symposium on Poultry Welfare has been organised by Working Group 9 (Poultry Welfare) of the World''s Poultry Science Association (WPSA) every fourth year since 1981. The Agricultural University in Lublin , the WPSA Working Group 9 and Polish Branch will organize the 7th Symposium, 15-19 June 2005. The symposia have the objectives of promoting the advancement of knowledge of poultry welfare by all means available including the exchange of information on current research and developments in poultry welfare, sharing and disseminating such knowledge by promoting the presentation of papers and posters, discussion upon them. Papers and reports are published in scientific proceedings or journals. Participants include researchers (ethologists, veterinarians, agronomists) as well as representatives of industry, welfare, consumer and governmental organisations.
The basic programme will consist of keynote lectures in several areas followed by a number of free papers. Fundamental and applied aspects of poultry welfare will be presented. The proceedings will be published in "Animal Science Papers and Reports" (the journal of the Polish Academy of Sciences) and will be available at the symposium registration desk in both printed and CD versions. There will be ample time for poster viewing during the whole symposium.

Sufficient stand space will be available for organizations wishing to exhibit.
The symposium language will be English. The registration fee will not exceed € 200. - for WPSA members and € 300. - for non-members and will include registration, admission to the scientific presentation area, proceedings, welcome reception, light meals, coffee etc.
