The UK Branch of WPSA is pleased to announce their 31st Poultry Science Symposium on "Sustainable Poultry Production in Europe", to be held in Chester (UK), 8-10th September 2014.
Sustainability of European poultry production encompasses all the factors needed to create a durable industry. This symposium aims to explore and ultimately define sustainability in the context of poultry production and to answer the questions around how we achieve a sustainable poultry industry in Europe.
The symposium promises to be informative, challenging and highly relevant for those interested in helping create a resilient European poultry industry. With UK and international invited speakers representing industry and academia, the programme will explore the three pillars of sustainability: Environment; Social and Economic.

The symposium will commence at 12pm on Monday 9th September and will close with lunch (12pm) on Wednesday 11th September. The full programme will be available 7th July, 2014.

The Destination
The historic City of Chester provides the perfect location for the symposium. Originally a Roman settlement, Chester has many archaeological sites and historic buildings; from the Roman amphitheatre to the City walls and Cathedral. Getting to Cheshire
Airports: The nearest airports to Chester and Cheshire are Manchester International (www.manchesterairport.co.uk) and Liverpool John Lennon (www.liverpoolairport.com), which are both about 40 minutes by road from Chester.
By Road: Main motorway links to Chester and Cheshire are through the M6, M56 and M53
By Rail: Chester is only two hours from London, where you can connect to services to the North Wales Coast. Crewe is the northern hub of the rail network with regular connecting services throughout the region.

The Venue for the symposium is The Queen Hotel, Chester. Situated in central Chester, next to Chester Railway Station and only minutes walk from the Roman walls, historic sites, museums and the wonderful shopping experience of this great historic city.
